Antiy-Demian Savov and Minette Murphy are first year students at Willowbank, learning to forge steel. The students were demonstrating the skills required of a blacksmith for those who dropped by Willowbank's school of restoration arts open house Sunday. (Fred Mercnik)

More than 50 people showed up for a Polar Bear Walk at Niagara College, which raised about $3,000, exceeding the goal. The walk began at the college greenhouse, headed to Woodend Conservation Area and finished back at the greenhouse. (Fred Mercnik)
