This week on my podcast, Auchterlonie on Astrology, I’ll look at the first quarter Moon in Cancer on Wednesday, April 1. (No fooling!) I’ve also got a new look at The Astrology of 2020 – A New Order! Also the week of March 29 through April 4. The website is https://www.lookingupwithbill.com/podcasts.html.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, March 26: Here comes a day where long-term plans take a big step forward, and an idea gets a boost from someone in a position of authority. Even though the moon is in laid-back Taurus, there’s a surprise here that is exciting. If he were still aboard the Starship Enterprise, Leonard Nimoy, a.k.a. Mr. Spock, would be 89 years old today.

Friday, March 27: Mercury in Pisces gets a bump from Pluto in Aquarius early on today, setting minds in motion, driven by the best that willpower has to offer. Go big! He was born Mar. 27, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee and was first noticed with his breakthrough motion picture, Reservoir Dogs. Since he has authored and directed a variety of entertainment, including Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds and – most recently, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Today Quentin Tarantino turns 57.

Saturday, March 28: Saturday rarely gets to be this busy – even when the Moon is in talkative, energetic Gemini. That’s because Venus hooks up first with generous Jupiter, then with mysterious Pluto, bringing good fortune and tremendous drive to anything – but especially to projects in need of quality performance and added beauty. He was born in Halifax. He played in the CFL, but got beat in Philadelphia on March 28, 1999, by Steve Austin, who picked up the WWF Heavyweight title. I’m talking about Dwayne “‘he Rock’ Johnson.

Sunday, March 29: The Sun is in Aries. The Moon is in Gemini. These are friendly skies. Except for that pesky Mercury in Pisces, wanting to spoil the party by showing her sensitive side. Hey! Today we can have both! The day Niagara Falls stopped flowing? It has happened a few times, including March 29, 1848. The reason? An ice jam up river near Fort Erie.

Monday, March 30: Mars moves into Aquarius, and the Moon finishes up her last day in Gemini. It’s an airy start to the week, with ideas producing stress that can open doors to new ways forward. On March 30, 1867, the U.S. purchased Alaska from Russia for $7,200,000, or roughly two cents an acre.

Tuesday, March 31: Today is serious. Serious about work. Serious about career. Serious about long-term security. This is because Mars and Saturn are together in the Constellation of Aquarius. Big changes come today. March 31, 1972 is the final Black Tot Day. That is the final time that sailors in the Royal Canadian Navy would receive their daily ration of rum.

Wednesday April 1: April Fools! And the first quarter Moon in Cancer. So be careful that little pranks don’t get out of hand. Especially no running with scissors! And on April 1, 1976, in the garage of Steve Job’s parents’ house in Cupertino, California, the two Steves – Jobs and Wozniak – founded Apple Computer Inc.

And that’s Auchterlonie on Astrology for this week. Next time it’s the full Moon in Libra, and the astrological underpinnings of Easter.

Until then, remember, as Joni Mitchell said: “We are stardust. We are golden. So shine on.”
