Less than two weeks ago, playgrounds were still considered safe by parents. The Town has now closed them to discourage gathering in public spaces.

The Town has closed all of its playground equipment to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.

Parks and trails will remain open, with reduced maintenance, and the Town is reminding those who use them to keep two meters of physical distance.

The closure of play structures aligns with the direction to residents to practise physical distancing, avoid gathering in public settings, and whenever possible, stay home (#StayHomeNOTL).

Signs advising of these closures will be installed at all NOTL parks by the end of the week, a recent Town release says.
