This week on the Local Auchterlonie on Astrology we look at the week of April 23 through April 29, including the first Quarter Moon in Leo, on Wednesday, April 30.
On my podcast is a peek at the astrology of the coronavirus pandemic and the astrology underlining Easter.
But now, the week ahead:
Thursday, April 23: Taurus is cool. Taurus is calm. Taurus is quiet. Except today, when the Moon in Taurus connects with Uranus, and sets off fireworks and lights that shine years intro the future. Today is the birthday of Canada’s 14th Prime Minister, Lester B. Pearson, who governed from 1963 to 1968, and who also won the Nobel Peace Price for his work in calming the waters in the Suez Canal. Michael “Bowling for Columbine” Moore turns 66 today.
Friday, April 24: While there is tremendous willpower all day, the temptation to misuse it is propelled by anger, and that’s not good. Wait for a helping hand from a wise advisor. Shirley MacLaine is 86 today. Barbra Streisand is 78. And Kelly Clarkson turns 38.
Saturday, April 25: Pluto turns retrograde at 2:54 p.m, at 24 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto turns direct on Oct. 5 at 22 degrees of Capricorn. This is five months where willpower backfires, and we get what we don’t want. (Or at least what we think we don’t want.) Homer, Mr. Wiggums and several other characters voiced by Hank Azaria on the Simpson,s have a party today, because Hank Azaria is 56.
Sunday, April 26: While the Moon is in Gemini and touches eight other astro objects, the big news today is the Sun in the same place in the sky as the planet Uranus. Wild weather and a ping pong stock market are not unusual these days. Today they are the rule. Today Melania Trump, the First Lady of the U.S., turns 50. Originally from Slovenia, she married Donald Trump in 2005, and still mystifies most of America.
Monday, April 27: Ideas and feelings are in harmony during the start to this week, and then the Moon moves from Gemini into her home sign of Cancer at 1:27 p.m.. Get projects moving early on today. And it was April 27, 1956, that undefeated heavyweight boxing champ, Rocky Marciano, retired from the ring.
Tuesday, April 28: A nagging and persistent Saturn in Aquarius refuses to budge against a matter dealing with the home or family. Try a helping hand from your most practical self. He was born on April 28, 1888 in Hamilton, and went on to become the Chief Commander of the Canadian Forces during WW II. He was Henry Duncan Graham Crerar.
Wednesday, April 29: The Moon continues her stubborn ways in Cancer, until later tonight, when she moves on to loving Leo setting up Thursday’s first quarter Moon tomorrow afternoon. The best bet today is to protect what you’ve got, and try not to let pride get in the way of the good things you enjoy. Willie Nelson was born on April 29, 1933 in Texas, and got into music, even as a little kid. His greatest hits include: Always on My Mind, On The Road Again, Georgia On My Mind – and my favoaurite, Patsy Cline’s cover of Crazy.
Tomorrow is the end of April, and the first quarter Moon is in Leo – a challenging day to be sure.
