Auchterlonie on Astrology

October 23, 2020 by Bill Auchterlonie Culture

Bill Auchterlonie

Welcome to Auchterlonie on Astrology, a look at the week of Oct. 22, with the first quarter Moon in Aquarius on Friday, Oct. 23.

On my podcast you can also hear about Mars retrograde in Aries – The Hero’s’ Journey, courtesy of our friends at AstroButterfly, who also give us an overview of October. You can also hear about all the important aspects for this month, and find out how to obtain your own personal birth chart, including a forecast for the year ahead.  The podcast is at www.auchterlonieonastrology.ca.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Oct. 22: The Sun moves from peace-loving Libra into sexy Scorpio at 6:59 p.m.. Retrograde Mercury makes a stressful and potentially positive move this evening. Likely it involves remembering something from the distant past. Something that in review, can be re-thought and healed. Oct 22, 1844, is the birth date of one of Canada’s most famous Canadians. Part Indigenous, part Francophone, Louis Riel became the political and spiritual leader for a group of people who had helped build early Canada, but who still suffer from neglect by both Native and official courts.

Friday, Oct. 23: Today is the first quarter Moon in Aquarius, where the Sun in Scorpio is 90 degrees to the Moon in Aquarius. The Moon is also square Mercury and conjunct Saturn. All of this make for an incredibly challenging time, where feelings about a better future are thwarted by ideas that are looking back, and by big powers that are putting their feet down. Keep your focus on the future you want, and stay calm. On a more jubilant note, it was Oct. 23, 1993 that Joe Carter of the Toronto Blue Jays hit a home run to win the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Saturday, Oct. 24: Venus is the planet of beauty and love. Saturn is the serious ruler of the Solar System whose word must be obeyed. Today they work together on something that builds more security and more quality into your life. You can help by making a list of potentials you would like to see, and helping bump them along. Today is the birthday of one of Canada’s most successful entertainers. It was Oct. 24, 1986 that Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto. He first came to notice as a player on Degrassi, but his biggest success has been his  music, which fills radio airtime and concert halls all over the world.

Sunday, Oct. 25: The Moon moves on to Pisces in the dinner hour, and the Sun and retrograde Mercury connect in Scorpio this afternoon. It’s a powerful day of sensitivities and deep feelings. where conversations with yourself can bring  feelings of peace, and a sexy self-assuredness that builds confidence. He was born Oct. 25, 1966, in Saskatchewan and was drafted #1 by the Toronto Maple Leafs where he had a stellar career, also playing for the Quebec Nordiques, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. He is Wendel Clark.

Monday, Oct. 26: A helping hand from Aquarius puts a smile on some faces. Otherwise it’s an easy, laid-back Monday for most. Our birthday boy today is a master of all things comic, including Family Guy, American Dad, the Cleveland Show and films such as Ted and a Million Ways to Die in the West. Seth MacFarlane turns 47 today.

Tuesday, Oct. 27: At 9:35 p.m., retrograde Mercury moves from Scorpio into balancing Libra. Five minutes later, Venus moves from discriminating Virgo into (one of) her home signs, Libra. It’s a day of imagination and building better relationships. After trading Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1903, the Boston Red Sox would not win a World Series for 86 years. On Oct 27, the ‘Curse  of the Bambino’ was lifted as the Red Sox won against the St. Louis Cardinals on Oct 27, 2004.

Wednesday, Oct. 28: The Moon moves into  fiery Aries early this morning, and makes for an active day with not too many arguments. Venus does get in the way at breakfast, so be careful with your knife and fork. On Oct 28, 1914 in New York City a boy named Jonas Salk was born. He would go on to invent a vaccine for polio, an invention that he gave to the world for free.

And that’s Auchterlonie on Astrology for this week. Next week it’s the full Moon in Taurus and the American elections.

So, now more than ever, shine on!
