Welcome to Auchterlonie on Astrology, a look at the week of Nov 19, with the first quarter Moon in Pisces, and the Sun in Sagittarius, both on Saturday, Nov. 21.

On my podcast you can also hear about how to obtain your own personal birth chart including a forecast for the year ahead. The podcast is at www.auchterlonieonastrology.ca.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Nov. 19: Saturn is remarkably busy today, with Venus and the Moon, and that’s not good, then with the Sun, which is much better. Expect feeling like being torn between a rock and a hard place. Also expect a helping hand from a stern father figure, so long as you are honest with yourself. Today is the day, in 1863 that Abraham Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address. It begins: “Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure.”

Friday, Nov. 20: Feelings and ideas may be at odds today, but that won’t slow down the sexually friendly connection between Mars and the Moon. Generosity rules this last day of Scorpio. Wilfred Laurier was Canada’s second Prime Minister, a Liberal, and was fully bilingual. He was born Nov. 20, 1841. And U.S. President Elect, Joe Biden, turns 78 today.

Saturday, Nov. 21: The Sun moves from watery Scorpio into fiery Sagittarius at  9:39 p.m. Twelve hours earlier Venus moved from her home sign of Libra into sexy Scorpio. It’s also the day of the first quarter Moon in Pisces making for challenges as the magical ‘know it all Sun’ in Sagittarius is square to the super intuitive Moon in in Pisces. It is a day of “Who do we trust?” When we first heard her on the radio with her innovative and catchy ditty, Call Me Maybe, we thought she would be a one hit wonder. But nine years later she is still writing and selling hit songs. Canada’s Carly Rae Jepson turns 35 today.

Sunday, Nov. 22: Sexy ideas. Healthy ideas. Ideas about work. All are on the table today. And, thanks to a friendly bump from Uranus, an unexpected quality is added into the mix. It could be a big, big birthday bash as Billie Jean King turns 77. Jamie Lee Curtis is 62. Boris Becker is 53. And Scarlett Johansson celebrates birthday number 36. And, of course, today in 1963 John F. Kennedy took his last breath.

Monday, Nov. 23: The secretive Mercury in Scorpio connects with the imaginative Neptune in Pisces to imagine or create something exciting that has a dream like quality to it. And the colour photograph is 157 years old today.

Tuesday, Nov. 24: So far, this Tuesday is the most upbeat and positive day of this week. Confident feelings propel us to take on new projects, or to take on old projects in a bold, new way. We know  him as Joseph Brant.  His indigenous name was Thayendanegea. He helped the British secure Canada during the War of 1812. For this he was awarded a large tract of land on the shores of the Grand River. Over the intervening 200-plus years, various British and Canadian governments have whittled down the tract of land without agreement by the indigenous population.

Wednesday, Nov. 25: Venus, Mercury and the Moon all contribute to an energetic and positive middle of the week. Make a list. Go for it. Today would be the 106th birthday of Joltin’ Joe, the Yankee Clipper. His real name was Joe DiMaggio, and besides playing great baseball, he was briefly married to Marilyn Monroe.

And that’s AonA for this week. Next week it’s the full Moon in Gemini – and more.

Until then, shine on!
