Welcome to Auchterlonie on Astrology, a look at the week of Dec. 3, with the third quarter Moon in Virgo.

On my podcast you can also find out about how to obtain your own personal birth chart including a forecast for the year ahead.  The podcast is at www.auchterlonieonastrology.ca.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Dec. 3: Here’s a 50-50 kind of day. On one hand, generosity, charm and imagination are sensitive and turned on. But at the same time, stubborn willpower and a  reluctance to be giving are also in play. This is a test. Be your best. To be less is not becoming of a guest. One year ago today, Spotify announced that Toronto’s Drake was the most streamed artist of the last decade, with 28 billion streams, while Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You was the most streamed track, at 2.4 billion.

Friday, Dec. 4: Moving forward isn’t easy.  But fixing the past is. Proud feelings and loving ideas focused on old wounds are the best bet for success. One hundred and eighty years ago today in Nebraska was born Tashunka Witko. He is famous as Crazy Horse, Leader of the Oglala Sioux at the Battle of the Little Big Horn.

Saturday, Dec. 5: With the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Leo it’s a proud, fiery full of intuition kind of day. It’s also full of imaginative insights and sexy generosity. Yesterday was the 180th anniversary of the birth of Crazy Horse. Today is the 181st anniversary of the birth of General George Armstrong Custer. Two rivals, born one year and one day apart. Amazing coincidence? Custer died in battle at Little Big  Horn.

Sunday, Dec. 6: It’s a tense beginning to the week and the Third Quarter Moon isn’t until tomorrow. Today we get opportunity after opportunity to make things better. But the conditions of these changes are not easy to digest. Be creative and be a winner. The very first edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica was published on Dec. 6, 1768. Where? In Scotland, of course.

Monday, Dec. 7: The third quarter Moon in Virgo occurs at 7:36 p.m. on a day where heart and mind are in two very different places. Paradoxically (perhaps), emotions are focused on practical matters, while thoughts are about love and loved ones. Here in Niagara we talk and think a lot about The Bench. Same thing in Cincinnati where they fondly remember the catcher widely hailed as the greatest of all time – Johnny Bench. Twice an MVP and with two World Series rings, Johnny Bench turns 73 today.

Tuesday, Dec. 8: Whether its relationships or work and financial security, there’s not much stand-in in the way of what you want today. So, make a list and look for green lights. Famous Hong Kong businessman Jimmy Lai  celebrates birthday #72 today. No doubt a telephone call from his sister in Niagara on-the Lake will be part of the festivities.

Wednesday, Dec. 9: With oppositions and impediments here, there and not quite everywhere, it’s a good thing  the Moon in well-balanced Libra and the Sun in Inspirational Sagittarius are on friendly terms. Loved ones and learning are today’s agenda. Today is birthday #86 for Dame Judi Dench, whose range of acting stretches from Shakespeare’s Henry V to playing Miss Moneypenny opposite Daniel Craig as James Bond in Skyfall.

Next week, it’s a new Moon in Sagittarius and more.

So,  until then, shine  on.
