Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Dec. 31: The last day of 2020 is here. And it ends much as it has unraveled so far – with emotional tension making everything not so celebratory. It’s a good idea to not push, but to wait and respond. He was born in Winnipeg in 1911 and was a professor of communication theory at the University of Toronto when his small book, The Medium is the Message, changed the way we see the world. He was Marshall McLuhan and he remains a towering figure in Canadian history. He died in his sleep on New Year’s Eve, 1980.

Friday, Jan. 1: Mercury in Capricorn is pals with Neptune in Pisces today, and that means a day of ideas that benefit both from imagination and a steady sense of practicality. It was 157 years ago today that Abraham Lincoln signed The Emancipation Proclamation, setting all former slaves free. This was Jan. 1, 1863, while the Civil War was still raging.

Saturday, Jan. 2: Despite some stresses, this is a Saturday where Venus and Mars and the Moon are at the points of an equilateral triangle. We may be a little lazy because things are so easy and so pleasurable. It was Jan. 2, 1727, that James Peter Wolfe was born in England. In 1758 he successfully completed the siege of the Fort at Louisbourg, an important strategic capital in the French colony of Île Royale (Cape Breton Island), and the following year defeated the French on the Plains of Abraham.

Sunday, Jan. 3: Again, despite some stresses, the good news is courtesy of the Moon in Virgo, The Sun in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. It’s all very earthy and practical. And enjoyable! Today Apple Inc. is 44 years old. Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs incorporated Apple Jan. 3, 1977.

Monday, Jan. 4: A very productive afternoon and evening see ideas motivated by willpower and conversations, while serious, are also productive for both speakers. And the winningest coach in football would turn 91 today. Don Shula, as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, holds several records, including having the only team to play an undefeated season. Don Shula passed last year.

Tuesday, Jan. 5: The Moon moves from earthy Virgo into peaceful Libra just past midnight, and sets up another productive day where helping hands come from elders and teachers and also from stern places where generosity is not often seen. Her grandaddy was born in Gananoque, Ontario. He moved to Hollywood where she was born. Today the celebrated Diane Keaton, famous for her role in Annie Hall and so many others, turns 75.

Wednesday, Jan. 6: It’s Epiphany! Kind of a ‘little Christmas’ for some, and the true Christmas for others. It’s the day when the Three Wise Men arrived in Bethlehem. Today it’s the day Mars leaves Aries and enters Taurus. Mars in Aries is fearless. Mars in Taurus is more like Ferdinand the Bull. Kind of indulgent. Today is also the third quarter Moon in Libra at 4:37 a.m.. Mr. Bean, aka Rowan Atkinson, celebrates #46 today. Make a funny face in the mirror in his honour.

And that’s AonA for this week.

Next time we get a new Moon in Aquarius and more.

So now that we are done  with 2020, shine on!
