Auchterlonie on astrology

January 6, 2021 by Bill Auchterlonie Culture

Bill Auchterlonie

Welcome to Auchterlonie on Astrology, a look at the week of Jan. 7, through to Jan. 13, and including the new Moon in Capricorn.

On my podcast you can also find out how to obtain your own personal birth chart including a forecast for the year ahead. The podcast is at www.auchterlonieonastrology.ca.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Jan. 7: The Moon moves from peaceful, thoughtful Libra into sexy, secretive Scorpio just before 4 a.m. It sets up a day of challenges and surprises. Be ready for anything by being relaxed and honest with yourself. Although he is only 36 years old today, he is already regarded as the greatest F-1 driver of all time. Born in Stevenage, England, his early career was a mastery of go-karts. Lewis Hamilton has recently tested positive for COVID-19, so let’s hope he gets better soon.

Friday, Jan. 8: The solar system is so busy today, we need a traffic cop to keep track of all the connections and changes. Venus moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn. Mercury moves from Capricorn to Aquarius. The Sun makes sweet with the north node of the Moon, and with Neptune. It’s busy, but if you are open to change, it should be imaginative and positive. Elvis Aaron Presley was born Jan. 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. David Bowie was born Jan. 8, 1947 in London, England.

Saturday, Jan. 9: Another extremely busy day with clever ideas to make life more stable and secure. And with warm relationships to make yin and yang work (and play) together. I was Jan. 9, 2007 that Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, introduced the world to the first iPhone. Thirteen years later, and so many sold and used over and over and over again.

Sunday, Jan. 10: A laid-back Sunday, where trying to get something new off the ground will likely not be easy. The one exception is a forward-looking idea that pops into your imagination and becomes a real fascination. Mary Pickford was born in Toronto. In her youth she set off for Hollywood where her beautiful face and charm brought her to the forefront of celebrity. She married the most eligible bachelor, Douglas Fairbanks, and they formed United Artists, along with Charlie Chaplin and D.W. Griffith. Mary divorced Fairbanks on Jan. 10, 1936.

Monday, Jan. 11: The Moon moves into Capricorn this morning and later in the day forms a conjunction with Venus. Charm can be business-like and serious too. But the big connection today is when Mercury forms a Conjunction with Jupiter in Aquarius. The suggestion is about a helping hand in the form of a new way of seeing how things are organized, a new way that is a step into the future. A better future after all.  Frederick Banting first made use of insulin on Jan. 11, 1922, in Toronto, when he injected 14-year-old Leonard Thompson, who was suffering with Type 1 diabetes.

Tuesday, Jan. 12: Mercury, in Aquarius is square to Uranus in Taurus today. Surprise! It’s a practical idea that moves you several steps towards a significant goal. Nobody says, “I’m going to Miles.” Nobody says, “I’m going to Gilbert’s.” But millions say: “I’m going to Timmie’s.” Tim Horton’s real name is Miles Gilbert Horton. He was born Jan. 12, 1930.

Wednesday, Jan. 13: New Moon, at midnight! Just as the day begins.  Since Saturn and Jupiter have departed Capricorn, we can now “do the Pluto work” without distractions. With Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, the theme of the 2020 new Moon in Capricorn was resilience. The theme of the Jan. 13, 2021 new Moon in Capricorn is renewal. Since Saturn is no longer in Capricorn, the associated heaviness connected with the transit is gone too. The new Moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto will feel like spontaneous combustion. Just like a Phoenix birth, we will witness a total rebirth. From the ashes of the old year will rise a new one, a new you, ready to tackle a new set of goals. The process, while intense, will feel rather liberating. She was already famous when she became vice-president. Of the TV show Veep. Previously she was Elaine on Seinfeld. She is Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and today she turns 60.

And that’s AonA for this week. We are stardust. So, shine on.
