Auchterlonie on astrology

January 14, 2021 by Penny Coles Culture

Bill Auchterlonie

Welcome to Auchterlonie on Astrology, a look at the week of Jan. 14 through Jan. 20, including the Sun moving to Aquarius and the first quarter Moon.

On my podcast you can also find out how to obtain your own personal birth chart including a forecast for the year ahead. The podcast is at www.auchterlonieonastrology.ca.

Now, the week ahead:

Thursday, Jan. 14: Today, Uranus turns direct, and is square to Jupiter. Beware of blowing things out of proportion. This is a potentially explosive day. It’s also the 52nd birthday of Jason Bateman. His starring roles include Arrested Development and Ozark.

Friday, Jan. 15: The Moon moves from Aquarius to Pisces, but not until 5:15p.m. Most of the day is kind of aimless, so catch up on work you haven’t had time to do. On this day in 1892, in Triangle Magazine, was an article with all the rules of basketball, written by Canadian James Naismith, who also invented the game. It’s also Joan of Arc’s birthday.

Saturday, Jan. 16: With both Mars and Uranus close together in Taurus and with Venus in Capricorn, all are well positioned to do sweet things to the Moon in Pisces. Enjoy a day of quiet anergy, charm and a surprise or two. Today would be the 122 birthday of the man whose name is seen at all NHL games. Frank Zamboni was born Jan. 16, 1901.

Sunday, Jan. 17: Today is one of the weightiest days of the year as Jupiter is square to Uranus. Things may get blown out of proportion, but it’s a day that rushes along like the wind. January 17 is a great day for a birthday. Jim Carrey is 59.  Betty White is 99. And Mohammad Ali was born on this day in 1942.

Monday, Jan. 18: At 2:07 a.m., the Moon moves into Aries. Things become a bit defiant. Fortunately, that is tempered by friendly aspects from both Jupiter and Saturn. Mark Messier celebrates birthday #60 today. He is the only player in any sport to have captained two different teams to league championships.

Tuesday, Jan. 19: It’s the first day of Aquarius as the Sun moves from earthy Capricorn into airy Aquarius at 3:39p.m. This brings a total of four planets in Aquarius: Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and now the Sun, soon to be followed by Venus in February. It’s time for change! One of the world’s most gifted entertainers and dedicated philanthropists, Dolly Parton celebrates her 76th birthday today.

Wednesday Jan. 20: It’s a challenge, as first quarter Moon days routinely are. This one is extra challenged, as Mars and Uranus make a conjunction in Taurus, a conjunction whose effects may roll into tomorrow. Today, stand-up comedian and satirist, host of Real Time with Bill Maher, yes, it’s his birthday. Maher is 65.

And That’s AonA for this week. Next week it’s a full moon in Leo and more.

Until then, shine on!
