As Niagara Nursery School nears the completion of its expansion, both Phil’s valu-mart in Virgil and Hendriks valu-mart on Queen Street are helping out.

The two grocery stores are partnering with the nursery school on a donation drive that began last week and continues until Saturday, Aug. 28, with customers able to make a $2 donation to the expansion fund when shopping in either store.

“We are so excited and grateful for this opportunity,” notes Candice Penny, NNS executive director. The expansion project will be completed later this month,

opening up 39 child care spaces, ranging from infant to pre-school. “To date, we have raised $75,000 out of our $100,000 goal, and hope that this fundraising initia- tive, will get us closer to our goal as we prepare to open our doors to 69 children in September.”

The construction of the expansion continues to be on budget and on schedule for a September opening.
