Few tourist experiences in Canada compare to a journey into the mist of the iconic Niagara Falls.
This holiday season, that experience is being elevated through five special offerings from Niagara City Cruises, in partnership with the annual Winter Festival of Lights.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the dazzling lights and illuminated falls as fireworks light up the sky during the Falls Fireworks Cruise. This special experience will be available on Nov.16 – the opening night of the festival – as well as on the 22-23 and 29-30, with departures at 7:30 p.m.
“These final five Falls Fireworks cruises of the season combine two of Niagara Falls’ most unforgettable experiences,” says Mory DiMaurizio, chief operating officer of City Cruises in Canada. “For 42 years, the spectacular light displays throughout Niagara Parks have been the centrepiece of any late-fall or early-winter visit. Viewing these dazzling lights and the illuminated falls, with fireworks overhead, from the unique vantage point aboard our vessels is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—offering a completely different perspective than standing atop the gorge."
For guests looking to experience the Falls up close in the daytime, Niagara City Cruises offers the Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour, running until Dec. 1. Departures are from 10 a.m. to 4::30 p.m. every day until Nov. 15, with cruise times extended until 6:30 p.m. on every Friday and Saturday, beginning Nov. 16. Weekend guests boarding Voyage to the Falls cruises after 4:30 p.m. will get to experience the dazzling illumination of the Falls as they’re transformed into a multi-coloured spectacle every night after dusk.
The Winter Festival of Lights stands as Canada’s most expansive free outdoor light festival – featuring millions of lights and larger-than-life displays throughout Queen Victoria Park, along the Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and across the tourism districts in Niagara Falls – including displays in front of the Niagara City Cruises main ticket plaza.
The festival will run from Nov. 16, 2024 to Jan. 5, 2025.

Adult tickets for the Falls Fireworks Cruise are $38.50. Child tickets are $25.50. Adult tickets for the Voyage to the Falls cruise are $33.50. Child tickets are $23.50. On Voyage to the Falls, infants 2 and under ride for free.
