Niagara police look for three suspects in Pen Centre robbery

On Friday June 28, at approximately 6:50 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were called to Pen Centre on Glendale Avenue in the City of St. Catharines following the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Investigation has revealed that three male suspects went into Kavar Jewellers and proceeded to smash display cases, taking items inside while brandishing a firearm, before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects then fled through the rear entrance to the mall in a stolen grey Honda CRV with Ontario marker AVAZ 426. There were no physical injuries as a result of the robbery.

Suspect 1 is described as:

  • Male
  • Dark skin
  • Approximately 20 years of age

Suspect 2 is described as:

  • Male
  • Black
  • Approximately 20 years of age
  • Heavy build

Suspect 3 is described as:

  • Male
  • Black 
  • Approximately 20 years of age

All three suspects were wearing black gloves and blue medical masks. Detectives are asking any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage in the area at that time, to contact them at (905) 688-4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009356.
