NOTL weekend: Lots to do Saturday and Sunday, June 15 & 16

There is something for everyone going on this weekend: including the Shaw Guild Garden Tour Saturday, guided walks through the Old Town to learn about history or local ghosts, music,, the local farmers market, winery events, and for kids and families, Memorial Park Pool is opening Saturday.

Memorial Park Pool

The King Street pool opens Saturday. The splash pad in Virgil is also open, as are other town outdoor amenities and facilities, including public washrooms, the skatepark in the Virgil sports park, tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, Queen’s Royal Park Gazebo, baseball diamonds and soccer fields at Memorial Park and the Virgil Sports Park. The St. Davids pool and the wading pool in Simcoe Park don’t open until June 29.

Summer Kick-off party at the Library

Drop by the NOTL Public Library this Saturday, June 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the kick-off of the Summer Reading Party. There will be a bouncy castle, giant legos, lawn games, a green screen photo booth, free hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy. Browse the books available for sale and enjoy entertainment from the NOTL Ukesters and Yellow Door Theatre Project. It's all free, at 10 Anderson Lane. 

Shaw Guild garden tour Saturday

The 18th annual tour is Saturday, June 15. Tickets are available online via Eventbrite, and will also be available the day of the tour at any of the tour’s participating locations for $35, cash only. The Old Town gardens are at 380 Johnson Street, 158 Prideaux Street, 135 Centre Street, 210 Centre Street, 343 Regent Street, and 112 Delater Street, 14956 Niagara Parkway on the way to Queenston and 56 Princess Street in Queenston. Butterfly Release

NOTL’s Palliative Care service is hosting their third annual butterfly release Saturday June 15, at 1 p.m. at the NOTL Community Centre. For more information visit notlpc.com.

Walking Tours

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is offering weekly walking tours of the historic Old Town Saturdays and Sundays until September. The tours begin at 11 a.m. near the gazebo in Queen's Royal Park and end at the museum. There is a cost of $10 per person, which includes admission to the museum to explore its exhibits after the walk, or on another day. For information click here: Walking tours

The Market at the Village

at 111 Garrison Village Drive is open Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., offering local produce and crafts. It will run Saturdays until Oct. 5. For more information visit https://www.marketatthevillage.com/

Lawn bowling open house

The NOTL Lawn Bowling Club is holding an Open House Saturdays in June, from 1 p.m to 4 p.m., located at the Rear of Community Centre, 14 Anderson Lane in NOTL. There is no cost to attend. For more info Visit Event Website

Niagara-on-the-Lake Ghost Walks

Ghost walks are offered Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Begin at the Ghost Walks Gift Shop, 127 Queen Street, NOTL. Stretch & Sip: Vineyard Yoga Fundraiser
