NOTL wants residents to weigh in on public parks, recreational facilities and programs. This is Sparky's Park in St. Davids.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is beginning the public engagement process for a parks and recreation master plan by asking residents to respond to an online survey.

The town has also announced dates for two public information sessions, one in the Old Town and  the other is St. Davids.

To fill out the survey, go to the Join the Conversation: Parks and Recreation Masterplan.

The plan, a town’s news release says, is a “a comprehensive initiative designed to enhance and expand the community's parks, recreation, and facilities for current and future generations. This forward-thinking plan is critical to creating vibrant, accessible, and functional recreational spaces that benefit all residents.”

This is the first of several phases of public engagement, the news release says. “Active participation from the community is crucial to the plan’s success, ensuring that it aligns with the values and needs of those who use these spaces. Based on input from the public, the plan may include revitalized park spaces, enhanced recreational facilities, new program offerings, and more.”

The first public information centre will be held July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the community centre by the Sweets ’n Swirls Cafe. The second is Aug. 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at St. Davids Lions Hall on York Road.

The public survey is open for feedback until Aug. 31.
