Saturday, Oct. 5

Last Saturday at The Market at the Village

The market at 111 Garrison Village Drive is open for the this last Saturday, Oct. from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., offering local produce and crafts. Drop by to say goodbye to the Bartels — after 18 years, they’ve decided to retire, so it will be their last day as well.

Niagara College’s Signature Chef Series

Saturday, Oct. 5, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.Benchmark at Niagara College, 135 Taylor Rd., NOTL. Niagara College’s (NC) Signature Chef Series returns by popular demand, this Saturday featuring executive chef Eric Martinez from the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Walking Tours

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is offering weekly walking tours of the historic Old Town Saturdays and Sundays until September. The tours begin at 11 a.m. near the gazebo in Queen's Royal Park and end at the museum. There is a cost of $10 per person, which includes admission to the museum to explore its exhibits after the walk, or on another day.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Ghost Walks

Ghost walks are offered Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, and on Monday, Sept. 2, 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Begin at the Ghost Walks Gift Shop, 127 Queen Street, NOTL. Memorial for the victims of the Nova Massacre in Israel

Sunday, 5 p.m., Brock University, 1812 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Pond Inlet. St. Catharines. The Brock Coalition Against Antisemitism, Jewish in Niagara, Chabad Niagara, Congregation B'nai Tikveh and Congregation B'nai Israel is holding a memorial for the victims of the Nova Massacre in Israel. The event will feature speeches by members of the Niagara community and a special feature presentation by investigative journalist, best-selling author, lawyer and political strategist, Warren Kinsella. Pond Outlet is in Brock’s Mackenzie Chown Complex. The closest parking lot is Lot A Zone 1.

Gone Forever: art exhibit reflects loss of farmland

Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, 247 Ricardo St, NOTL. Guests will have the chance to meet artist Carol Walthers and hear her speak about her work, which shows the environmental impact of urban expansion and industrial encroachment and the resulting loss of precious farmland, wetlands, and wildlife habitats can be seen in art. Her exhibit is at the Pumphouse until Oct.27.
