1934-2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Ford Dixon, who died peacefully at the Welland Hospital Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife, Anne Marilyn Dixon (2010). Loving father of Paul Fitzgerald Dixon (2017) and Fe, of Burlington, John Charles Dixon (Connie) of Kitchener, Ellen Margaret Dixon (Larry Cawker) of Waterdown, and Stephen James Dixon (Wayne McClellan) of Orangeville. Cherished grandfather of Anne, Abigail, Allaina, Alyzza, Jaymee, Olyvia, Paige, and William. And great grandfather to Salem. Lovingly missed by his partner, Tove Bowman. Survived by many nephews and nieces.
Jim was an active member of the Fonthill Baptist Church throughout his life in Fonthill, and recently, the Fonthill United Church. Jim dedicated much of his time to his church family, where he found joy in singing in the choir, volunteering for numerous committees, and putting his handy skills to use by painting and helping maintain the church. His faith was an unwavering source of strength. Jim was a gentle, kind soul who always had a kind word for everyone he met.
Jim practiced at the Welland Country General Hospital for over 38 years as a highly respected radiologist. Jim devoted his life to the medical profession and was a beacon of excellence, compassion, and dedication in his field.
