Niagara Regional police officers and detectives from the Street Crime Unit have been investigating multiple commercial break and enters in Pelham.
On Sept. 28 and Sept, 29, 2024, nine local businesses were broken into, suffering thousands of dollars in damage. The suspects targeted the cash registers and safes, stealing approximately $35,000 in currency.
As a result of the investigation the Street Crime Unit identified two suspects. On Oct, 3, two Criminal Code search warrants were executed at two separate residences in Welland. Clothing, shoes, and property were seized. Two vehicles and a motorcycle were also seized as proceeds of crime. Offence related property from one of the break in locations was recovered.
Jonathan Andrew MAMONE (29 years) of Welland has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offences of:
- Break Enter and Commit- Non-Dwelling (9 Counts)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Breach of Probation
Steven Anthony MAMONE of Welland has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offences of:
- Break Enter and Commit- Non-Dwelling (9 Counts)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order (2 Counts)
- Breach of Probation
The MAMONE brothers were held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on October 4, 2024.
