Meridian Credit Union offers reward for armed robbery

Initial investigation determined two men entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and got away with an undisclosed amount of Canadian cash

Meridian Credit Union is offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the armed robbery of their location at 4780 Portage Rd. in Niagara Falls Feb. 23, according to a release.

The initial investigation determined two male suspects entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and got away with an undisclosed amount of Canadian cash from the employees. No one was injured.

Suspect No. 1 is described as follows:

  • Black male
  • 50 years of age
  • six-feet tall, slim build
  • Wearing a black mask
  • Wearing a black jacket
  • Wearing black gloves
  • Wearing dark grey pants
  • Wearing black shoes

Suspect No. 2 is described as follows:

  • Black male
  • 30 years of age
  • five-foot-nine, medium build
  • Wearing a mask
  • Wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with “BARRIE” on the left chest and a maple leaf logo underneath
  • Wearing black pants
  • Wearing burgundy shoes
  • The suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan with stolen licence plates.
