On Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025 at approximately 2:46 p.m., members of Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform patrol responded to TD Canada Trust located at 5900 Dorchester Rd. in the City of Niagara Falls for a robbery call for service.
Upon arrival, officers determined a lone male suspect entered the bank, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the employees. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of currency, and fled the area north bound on Dorchester Road towards Highway 420.
A short time later, at approximately 3:16 p.m. members of the NRPS 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform patrol responded to the Meridian Credit Union located at 531 Lake Street in the City of St. Catharines for a robbery call for service.
Upon arrival, officers determined a lone male suspect entered the bank, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the employees. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of currency and fled the area.
Both robberies are believed to have been committed by the same suspect. The investigation has been assigned to detectives from the 1 District and 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB). Both incidents are being supported by detectives from the Forensic Services Unit.
In both instances the suspect was believed to have fled the scene in a silver Tesla model S, however, no license plate was obtained. There were no injuries reported in either incident.
