Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is a place where you never stop learning! This museum is home to over 8,500 artefacts, 41,000 documents, 4,000 photographs, and 900 books. The exhibits include diverse stories from Indigenous history and Black history to stories of refuge, military milestones, and much more. The current temporary exhibit includes the history of enslavement in Niagara and Upper Canada.

At the museum there is always something going on from lectures, the Tiny Museum out in the community, to tours and major events. It's not only a great tourist attraction but also a community hub that brings people together.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is embarking on a significant renovation project that aims to revitalize the museum's infrastructure and visitor experience. This initiative, titled the Building History Strengthening Community Campaign, represents a pivotal moment in the museum's history, as it seeks to enhance its ability to preserve and share the rich history of the Niagara region.

The main focus of the Capital Campaign involves the construction of a new building. This new facility will offer expanded exhibition spaces, enabling the museum to display a wider array of artifacts and exhibits. It will also provide much-needed storage for the museum's growing collection.

In addition to providing more space, the new building will also be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. This will allow the museum to offer a broader range of interactive, educational programs and activities, attracting a wider audience and fostering greater community engagement.

The Capital Campaign also includes the refurbishment of the existing museum building. The aim is to restore and preserve its historic character while also upgrading its amenities to meet modern and green energy standards. This will ensure the museum remains a vibrant and relevant cultural institution for years to come.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is seeking public support for this ambitious project. Donations are being solicited to help fund the construction and renovation work. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute to the preservation of the Niagara region's history and culture.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is a charity organization with more than 100 volunteers who are dedicated to preserving our local heritage for future generations.
