LETTER: Confusing speed limits on Niagara Stone Road

'There’s a 50, then a 40 then a 50 and then a very small sign with the times and dates the 40 is in place,' a reader writes

Niagara-on-the-Lake Local received the following letter in response to 'Speed cameras in NOTL no longer work, but housings are permanent.'

The speed camera housings are a good reminders slow down for all drivers regardless of whether the camera is working or not.

However, roadside speed markers ( on Niagara Stone Road in Virgil at least) remain confusing. There’s a 50, then a 40 then a 50 and then a very small sign with the times and dates the 40 is in place.

That one’s impossible to read at any speed. What’s needed is one clear, BIG sign with the correct information.
