Niagara-on-the-Lake Local received the following letter in regard to medical appointments.
I recently attended the St. Catharines hospital for a stress test, requiring two days, two hours each day, of appointments. This test involved a cardiologist, a nurse and 3 technicians, There were two injections of a radioactive tracer, a huge gamma ray machine, a walking machine and several electronic devices for this test.
I understand it is not uncommon for patients to miss their appointments without notice resulting in the idling of the above noted personnel and equipment. Also the tracers would need to be discarded.
So, I have to ask; although it may not be a direct cost to those patients, who paid for the missed appointments?
