GRIMSTEAD, Barbara

Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Linhaven Long Term Care Home on Monday September 9, 2024 in her 93rd year.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Grimstead (2015). Loving mother of Sharon, Brenda (Rob) Haylor, John (Margaret), Sue (Bob Curl) and the late JoAnn Walker (1997). Caring grandmother of Danielle (TJ Lawrence) Haylor, Samantha Walker, and the late Jordan Walker (2019). Special Gran Gran to Charlotte and Zachary Lawrence. The family wishes to thank Cathy Read and Cathy DeBon for their support and friendship over the years to mom and dad. 

The Family also wishes to thank the caring staff at Linhaven. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake, serving with pride as the president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Legion, branch 124. Mom will miss placing her yearly bet with Doug Pettit on who will place higher in the standings, her Toronto Blue Jays or his Baltimore Orioles.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Barbara’s life at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre in the Simpson Room on Saturday September 21, 2024 from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Those who wish to make a memorial donation to Red Roof Retreat or Ronald McDonald House.
