Ricky Rap: It's best to separate religion and politics

The US election results bring to mind a prophetic song by blues singer and guitarist Guy Davis, written by Bob Dylan

Guy Davis' sings an excellent version of Bob Dylan's song 'Sweetheart Like You'.

Ricky Rap is a list of 10 thoughts and offerings from Niagara’s own Rick Mills. Retired from more than 30 years of management in the steel industry, he continues pastoral ministry here in town. Ricky Rap, he says, is intended to help us to believe in and laugh at ourselves.

 1. Heard the gospel presented at church this past Sunday in its purest form.

 2. Politics wasn't mentioned once.

 3. It's how it should be.

 4. I've been listening to Bob and reading Paul.

 5. They say that patriotism is the last refuge,

 6. To which a scoundrel clings,

 7. Steal a little and they throw you in jail,

 8. Steal a lot and they make you king.*

 9. Anyone following present political landscape should know meaning of the word, "oligarch."

 10. Be watchful, pray, with gratitude.**
